About Lord Wandsworth College

Lord Wandsworth College (LWC) is a co-educational independent school for day and boarding pupils, located in the small village of Long Sutton on the north Hampshire/Surrey border. The College, which admits pupils between the ages of 11–18, occupies a 1200 acre campus and is well known for its charitable foundation.

Since 2015, the headmaster has been Adam Williams (previously Deputy Head of Glasgow Academy).

For 2021 Entry into Lord Wandsworth College year 7 will use the ISEB Pre-test.

Registration Deadlines & Examination Dates

The registration should be one year prior to entry and December 1 as the latest date. The ISEB Pre-test can be taken on Tuesday 12 or Wednesday 13 January 2021at Lord Wandsworth College.

Before taking the exam, they will contact the candidate’s current school to request a progress report. After exam, candidate with excellent results will be invited for an interview.

About the ISEB Common Pre-test

The tests take about two-and-a-half hours to complete (English 25 minutes, mathematics 50 minutes, non-verbal reasoning 32 minutes, verbal reasoning 36 minutes) and can be taken together or at separate times, either in the candidate’s own school or at the senior school for which he or she is entered

ISEB Pre-Test Format:  

The test is taken on a computer and consists of multiple-choice questions. It is broken down into four parts: 

  1. English – 25 minutes(reading comprehension, sentence completion, spelling and punctuation) 
  2. Mathematics – 50 minutes(in line with Year 5 of the UK National Curriculum) 
  3. Non-Verbal Reasoning – 32 minutes(shape analogies, classes like, horizontal codes) 
  4. Verbal Reasoning – 36 minutes(common words, antonyms, word combinations, letter transfer and number codes)
